Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Maintain cathodic protection (CP) systems to insure all facilities are protected and are compliant with company and governmental requirements.
• Conduct surface potential and pipe-to-soil surveys.
• Perform soil resistivity tests to locate new cathodic protection installations as necessary.
• Installs and maintain electrical equipment associated with prevention of corrosion requiring knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical safety codes.
• Cathodic Protection Inspector with technical diploma in the field of Electrical or equivalent with 3+ years of corrosion/cathodic protection work experience in the oil & gas industry.
• High school diploma with 8+ years of corrosion/cathodic protection work experience in the oil & gas industry.
• NACE CP Level I certification required. NACE CP Level 2 certification a plus.
• Understanding of corrosion principles to include: basics of electricity, electrical laws, electrochemistry, corrosion, and CP theory.
• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, organize and prioritize daily work schedules.
• Must be fluent in the English language (Oral & Written Skills)

Requirements

• Test protected pipelines to measure the efficiency of installed units.
• Monitor interference points.
• Maintain cathodic protection station.
• Install cathodic protection equipment as necessary.
• Conduct surveys and tests, gathers data and prepares reports and has the ability to read plot plans, diagrams, and specific prints
• Coordinate sample results and monitoring of chemical injection systems.

Qualifications & Education
• Technical diploma in the field of Electrical or equivalent with 3+ years of corrosion/cathodic protection work experience in the oil& gas industry.
• High school diploma with 8+ years of corrosion/cathodic protection work experience in the oil & gas industry.
• NACE CP Level I certification required. NACE CP Level 2 certification a plus.
• Understanding of corrosion principles to include: basics of electricity, electrical laws, electrochemistry, corrosion, and CP theory.

The plant is valued at US $10 billion and originally produced 18.4 million tons per annum (mtpa) of petroleum-based products and 2.4 mtpa of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives.

Petro Rabigh II is an expansion project valued at US $8.4 billion - 25% funded by the public and the remainder equally funded by Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. Petro Rabigh II is scheduled to be in full production by 4th Quarter 2017 and will produce a wide range of new products.
