Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting directly to the Chief Fire Officer (CFO), the successful candidate will;

- Develop and tailor the HSE Plan to match the HSE and Operational requirements
- Analyse and build an action plan based on a HSE survey to be conducted with Operations Staff
- Train all staff with the updated HSE Plan
- Review and Update Health and Safety Documents and develop standardised Operating Procedures based on the Safe Person Concept
- Tailor the Quality Plan to reflect the operations and DACO QMS
- Train and coach all staff in the Serco Incident Reporting Procedures and the DACO FRS Accident/Incident Procedures
- Train all Staff with the updated Health and Safety Documents
- Develop the Risk Assessment Log with Risk Manager by end of Month 2
- Develop workplace risk assessments, coaching and training FRS management staff in the performance of the risk assessments
- Adopt Operational Hazard Log and Hazard Management processes in line with DACO safety processes and procedures
- Documentation control and management process to be established in line with DACO QM processes and procedures
- Train all relevant staff (Senior) in documentation control and documentation management
- Tailor the Environmental Management Plan to reflect the FRS environment
- Brief all staff in Environmental Management Plan by end of Month 2
- Develop and administer HSE Audit Programme by end of month 3
- Develop programme for Occupational Health surveillance and testing etc.
- Set-up competency and qualification scheme programme (refresher every year/6 months)
- Ensure all staff competencies and licenses are in place; Fire Appliance driving; Explosive ; Waste etc
- Develop Chief 3 and Captains to manage HSE Trainings
- Develop recognition/reward programme for staff
- Develop and perform daily tool box talks

Requirements

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications;

- NEBOSH qualified
- Experienced Occupational Health and Safety professional.
- Ideally the candidate will have thorough knowledge of relevant KSA laws and OHSE legislation, and have prior fire and rescue/ paramedic experience
