IT Helpdesk / System Support Administrator

Job description / Role

• Provide first-level IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Respond to helpdesk tickets, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues as needed.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Support users with Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365 applications, and other enterprise software.
• Monitor system performance and report any irregularities to senior IT staff.
• Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory.
• Participate in IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, network configuration, and security enhancements.
• Maintain IT documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting logs.
• Stay updated with the latest IT trends, security best practices, and industry standards.

• Education: Diploma in IT Networking, System Administration, or a related field.
• Co-op Training: Completion of an IT-related co-op training program.
• Basic understanding of IT networking, Windows operating systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Knowledge of IT support tools, ticketing systems, and remote support software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in IT infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
• Awareness of cybersecurity principles.
