Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The person will essentially be working and leading within a team to deliver various projects. Manage the implementation of technology projects and changes, providing subject matter expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the company’s systems, processes and functional business requirements and help design and develop technical solutions while supporting business with the management and maintenance of business systems.

Responsibilities:
• Introduce new processes and systems and redefine and transform existing processes to align with changing business and technology needs.
• Manage and deliver technology projects and changes by engaging with various internal and external stakeholders and adopting the project management framework to ensure projects are completed within the defined timelines.
• Develop and design technology solutions through business and application architecture principles and maintain efficient and agile technology for the business.
• Develop the scope of the IT projects in collaboration with senior management, creating a detailed work plan for the whole project, determining the schedule and resource requirements.
• Coordinate in planning and monitoring the IT project schedule and progress.
• Develop project approvals, RFPs, technical documents, procedures, transition documents and other project related documentation within scope of the subject matter of the project in line with the required standards.
• In consultation with the appropriate manager, recruit, interview and select staff with appropriate skills for the project activities.
• Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organisation and the project.
• Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate.
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organisation on the progress of the project.
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
• Manage the development, configuration, parameterisation, testing, deployment of technology changes and transition to production while extending support and guidance to business users for planning/conducting software acceptance testing.
• Manage planning and budgeting for technology projects and coordinate and contribute for preparation of business initiated technology projects, monitoring the financial performance against the budget for the Bank, not limited to monitoring performance to rectify and improve any unsatisfactory performance.
• Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate and appraise the team and regular feedback on performance.
• Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation.
• Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
• Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in the field of IT / Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant position within the Supply Chain / Logistics / Warehousing industry, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a managerial role.
• PMP / Prince 2 / ITIL certification or equivalent is an advantage.
• Knowledge in project management, database management, data interchange projects are all advantages.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
