IT Support Officer

Job description / Role

As an IT Support Officer you will ensure that effective information technology support services are provided to all staff including installation, upgrade, maintenance and solving other software, hardware and network issues.

The IT Support Officer reports to the IT Manager and ensures that hardware, software and net-work infrastructure are working properly and seamlessly.

The responsibilities of the IT Support Officer include, but are not limited to:

· Acts as the first point of contact for staff and provide effective end-user support as required
· Ensures proper installation, upgrades and supports existing IT systems
· Keeps all network and system documentation up-to-date
· Provides support and maintenance of routine software and hardware problems in IT sys-tem
· Assists with the analysis of IT requirements in terms of hardware, software and networking
· Assists with developing standards for hardware and software that support the information system requirements
· Performs all activities related to administration of local area network (LAN) and operating systems like adding, modifying, deleting, passwords, etc
· Performs e-mail system administration by creating, deleting, modifying ID’s and granting access to new users
· Trains users to use new or modified equipment, systems or software package
· Engages in research and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
· Identifies any IT security risks, evaluates mitigation options and carries out suitable measures to increase network and data security
· Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

Salary:
SAR 12,000 to 14,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

· Bachelor in Computer Science from a recognized institute
· At least 3 years of relevant experience
· Knowledge of computer networking, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
· Knowledge of systems engineering, computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair and troubleshooting
