Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Provide technical support services to installed systems in accordance with business requirements and system procedures including contingency/disaster recovery scenarios.
• Assist in the management of supported systems, including installation and configuration, fault resolution, security management, performance and accounting management, maintaining configuration records.
• Ensure that all activities are carried out to the agreed IT Standards and to ensure that the relevant procedures are maintained and followed to meet these standards.
• Actively contributes to the development of the team’s services, the planning, specification, development, installation, implementation and daily operation and management of supported server and desktop systems including first and second line support services.
• Work with other team members and/or 3rd Parties to establish a stable platform including the troubleshooting of any issues and providing temporary cover of system administration duties.
• Administering Windows 200x Servers, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory. TCP/IP, DNS DHCP WINS. Microsoft Operating Systems, Android, Apple IOS, Virtualization, Web technology, Microsoft Office.
• Administering network devices, Backup/Recovery processes, Security management. Networking architecture principals. Excellent communication skills, Good problem solving skills, Able to work under pressure.
• Project Management, ITIL, VM Ware Horizon Suit, VDI, Java, LMS experience, BYOD Principals, Mobile Device Management, Network & Server architecture awareness, Change management.

Requirements

• Is familiar with, uses effectively and can select appropriately from applicable methods, procedures and standards.
• Is able to function effectively, productively and meet time and quality targets across tasks within scope using available tools, methodologies and/or equipment with reference to others only by exception.
• Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
• Has a good appreciation of the wider field of IT outside his own specialization and has developed a good broad understanding of computer system architecture and technologies.
• Understands how the specific role relates to the usage of IT within the business and supported organisations.
• Provides detailed personal advice and guidance to all users in the effective use of systems, products and technology available to them; demonstrates ingenuity in applying knowledge to non-standard situations investigating complex problem situations to diagnose underlying causes and helping users to recover or continue operation.
