Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Assists in overseeing and controlling the day-to-day functioning of ITMC (International Transmission Maintenance Centre) and ensures effective monitoring of National and International Telecommunication Systems round the clock. Monitors alarm logs; arranges for fault clearance including call-out attendance by the respective maintenance teams. Updates various Operation and Maintenance records/databases relating to Trunk Network. Reports and reviews daily observations/criticalities including all outages to superiors and follows up as required.
• Locates, monitors and follows up on route and line faults and equipment malfunctions; Supervises the ITMC team including the shift technicians; arranges for call-out attendance to handle off-duty emergencies
• Ensures that the prescribed maintenance standards, procedures and guidelines are fully complied with in respect of routine and preventive maintenance as well as operational interventions such as provisioning/rearrangement of transmission routes. Monitors work practices and tests and guides the technicians as required
• Reports and reviews the observations and issues/concerns based on day-to-day alarm monitoring of the international systems /entities with superior; generates and submits the daily/monthly Operational Reports and assists in carrying out special studies/analyses as required from time to time and presenting the findings/recommendations
• Prepares and presents for review various technical reports including monthly/quarterly/annual O&M reports on International Transmission systems
• Assists CT/ITMC in devising and implementing appropriate technical interventions to effectively deal with planned outages/ hazardous conditions with minimal service degradation
• Plans and issues local wiring schedules for all public and leased circuit provisioning. Ensures execution of all special circuits and projects in accordance with the priorities stipulated by Commercial/Operations
• Ensures that the database on routes/circuits is updated and maintained; assists in liaising with other Administrations on transmission routes provisioning, congestion and service quality
• Provides professional direction and guidance to subordinates; evaluates the performance of subordinates and carries out counselling to improve

Requirements

• University Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Electronics / Telecommunication / Equivalent in Engineering
• Nature and length of previous experience: Hands on Experience in ITMC - International Transmission Maintenance Center
• Specialist knowledge: ITMC (International Transmission Maintenance Center), Monitoring National and International Telecommunication Systems
• Soft Skills and Personality traits: Organized, Enthusiasti, Self-reliant, Resilient, Determined
• Language Fluency: English
