Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

You are required to have the ability:
• To analyze market trends and to use this to make decisions to improve and grow your category. To analyze your inventory and to make the necessary adjustments to meet the category stockholding budgets and stock turns
• To analyze your category and review the sales and profit productivity

Decision making skills: You will need to use the information you have gathered to make decisions on behalf of the company

Math skills: Basic math skills are required to analyze prices to get the best deals. This is also a requirement to analyze the category and product margins.

Negotiation skills: You will be working with your vendors to create the best deals. Negotiation skills will help you create those deals

Work activities
• Liasing with existing suppliers and negotiating contracts
• Sourcing and building relations with new vendors
• Sourcing and selecting new products through catalogs and by attending national and there necessary international trade fairs and events
• Monitoring market changes, competitive prices and products
• Analysing past sales patterns to anticipate trends in consumer buying pattern
• Recommending clearance sales and varying delivery schedules to help control stock levels
• Presenting new ranges to retail managers
• Assisting visual merchandisers and category and planogram managers in planning store layouts to promote key lines
• Working with the marketing department in order to present sales promotions.

Requirements

Responsible for planning, selecting and purchasing of goods and merchandise and the overall management of your category. You will source new and review existing goods to ensure the market competitiveness of Al Jazeerah.
