Job description / Role
Role Summary:
Plan and direct publicity, news media relations, and public relations activities worldwide for GE products and technology, primarily oriented toward the promotion of the GE brand as a high technology, quality-conscious, leading manufacturer in the aviation, rail, marine, industrial, and service markets. Positions requiring thorough understanding, application and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies and application in a concrete organizational context.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manages the interaction with journalists from International/National/Trade media by defining and preparing press kits, writing trade articles or coordinating the writing of articles, managing media training, organizing press events and leading crisis communications. Defines social media content to align media strategy with Marketing Communications and business Leadership. Advises Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems. Has a role as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects.
Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Communications). Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Media Relations.
