Lead Expeditor - Engineering

CLIENT
Linum Consult’s client is a major international contractor, working on a number of heavy civil and marine engineering projects across the globe. They are currently seeking a Lead Expeditor to be based in their Saudi Arabia office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Organizing and coordinating the activities of the expending function within multiple concurrent projects, ensuring all project delivery requirements are met
• Organizing and overseeing the work of the site- and office-based expeditors based across the company’s operating sites
• Applying all relevant procedures, tools, and forms to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of expending
• Creating and managing the Expediting plan and Procurement Tracking Schedule for each project, including organizing the interface with other departments to plan and monitor all upcoming activities, as well as schedule updates
• Liaising with the Project Manager to arrange the Vendor selection based on the technical, commercial, and risk assessment criteria
• Implementing and driving the procurement strategies in order to meet cost saving targets
• Ensuring a close, continuous, and efficient interface with the Engineering, Project Control, Quality, and Store Departments
• Ensuring all procurement transactions are completed in accordance with the commercial, legal, and contractual compliances
• Analysing any areas of concern with regards to procurement, identifying risks/impact to project execution, and suggesting possible solutions
• Training team members on effective procurement processes and strategy
• Issuing the expediting reports for senior management and the end client

Requirements

PROFILE
• Bachelor’s degree qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Between 3-5 years’ experience as a Lead Expeditor on Oil & Gas or Heavy Industrial construction projects
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia is preferred, with a transferrable Iqama
