Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

WSP are looking for a Lighting Inspector to supervise, monitor and inspect the construction activities carried out by contractor on site on behalf of employer in accordance with specification, approved drawings and method statements.

The key objectives of the role will be to
• Inspect and record the work of street lighting networks carried out by the contractor on site and solve site-relevant problems.
• Ensure performance of work in strict accordance with approved drawings and specification.
• Process joint measurement forms and maintain the records of their status.
• Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as-built plans
• Make special notes and document the contractor’s activities that may lead to claims.
• Inspect cable insulation and grounding network for lampposts in according to the terms and specifications of the contract.
• Check all form works, reinforcement, etc.
• Coordinate and cooperate with Contractors Site Foreman for all the activities.
• Keep detailed notes of day-to-day activities, issues, approved or rejected work, working hours, employment and equipment used, etc., and submit the daily report to the Lighting Engineer
• Check the ‘Inspection Request(s)’ submitted by the Contractor
• Maintain records of site resources, daily progress of work, inspections, construction and workshop drawings, method statements and ITPs (Inspector Testing Plans)

Requirements

In order to meet the challenge you will have the following skills and experience
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• 10 years of experience as inspector in electrical works of lighting, HV, MV, LV, etc.
• Good experience on final acceptance criteria of the quality of work.
• Knowledge of inspection test plans and procedures.
• Work experience with consultants for Inspection of total construction activities on site.
• Familiar with use of computer languages – Microsoft office and AutoCAD
• Having valid driving license (experience) will be beneficial.
