Linux Admin and Infrastructure Engineer

Job description / Role

Linux Administration:

• Monitor performance, troubleshoot problems and outages, schedule upgrades and provide continual improvement to your area of responsibility.
• Designing and implementing new solutions and improvements to the resilience of the current environment
• Ensure all platforms are maintained to a supportable stable version
• Ensure all platforms are secure, working with security team to ensure that systems are updated and when necessary, and implementing any urgent fixes/mitigations responding to threats as they arise using REDHAT Satellite, Oracle Linux- ULN Network etc.
• Designing and creating Linux infrastructure.
• Creating servers like NTP, Zabbix, NFS etc.

VMware

• Deploy, configure, and manage VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, Vcenter.
• Monitor and optimize virtual server performance, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Monitoring using Veeam One tool, Vmware Aria etc.
• Reporting: Generating reports, Suggesting improvements and implementing changes once CR is approved.

VEEAM Backup Administration

• Administer and maintain backup systems, ensuring regular backups and data recovery processes.
• Implement backup policies and strategies for various systems and data sources.
• Creating backup jobs, Monitoring Jobs.
• Restoration of Files, Folders or VM’s as per approved request.
• Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to verify their effectiveness.

• Minimum 5 years of Experience in Linux Administration, IT Infrastructure, VMware Virtualization Technolgoies and Veeam Backup Administration.
• Bachelor degree in Informaton Technology or any relevant discipline.
