We're looking for a Material Engineer to join our on going project in Saudi Arabia .

The Material Engineer will be responsible for all materials used in the construction of the Contract. You shall recommend and advise the Project Manager, Construction Manager on all matters regarding compliance with the Clients standards. You shall organize the Laboratory Technicians on the daily tasks and report back to the Resident Engineer of any abnormality. You shall liaise with the Client before and after submitting materials for approval.

Job Responsibilities:

- To guide the Laboratory Technicians to calibrate the Laboratory equipment.
- To receive and review the Material submittals for compliance with the standard specifications.
- To visit suppliers and manufacturers and check condition of the materials storage location.
- To correspond with the Contractor with regard to quality of material
- To visit the Contractors storage yard to ensure that materials are stockpiled and correctly and appropriately.
- To report to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager of all matters regarding materials to be used on the construction.
- To liaise with the client and respond to the requirement of the Central Laboratory.
- To organize the office so that all types of materials are properly filed for easy reference.
- To visit the site on daily basis in order to ensure and check that materials are correctly implemented and installed.
- To check correct materials are used for construction.
- To advise the Resident Engineer and Project Manager of any material rejection and for what reasons.

Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Road projects.
- Sufficient experience in large projects in testing materials in both site and laboratory for aggregates, earthworks and concrete, etc.
- Excellent knowledge in the methods of testing materials as per (AASHTO) and (ASTM) or similar standards.
- Good experience in sampling and testing of materials (including (A3) materials, relative density, CBR, gradation, etc.).
- Demonstrated report writing skills of a high calibre.
- Excellent client relationship skills, demonstrated by referees.
- Excellent communication and team skills.
- Good Leadership skills.
- Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
