EMR is an emerging markets foremost provider of recruitment solutions specialised in most industrial segments and key functions. We are currently working with a leading international bank looking for a MEA Head of Accounting to be based in KSA.

Our client is a leading international bank as well as a financial conglomerate based out of the Middle East to manage the MEA market. They have been at the top of their game for the past two decades. Currently they are on an expansion plan, which aims to increase their market share within the local regional investment portfolio.

This is a senior level position that offers a lot of hands on exposure across the business. This position works closely with the Financial Controller and the Regional CFO and is responsible for interpreting, communicating and co-ordinating the implementation of accounting policies under local and regional government policies.

Responsibilities would include:
- Accountable for Compliances and Governance processes
- Managing monthly banks reconciliation, sales, collections and receipts
- Reviewing complex transactions with the Front Office and Product Control to achieve proper accounting results
- Providing ad hoc accounting advices
- Held accountability for team management and delegation of responsibilities
- Ensuring the timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of the business units
- Held accountability for management reporting and MIS reviews
- Managing the proper control of financial accounting and reporting functions
- Leading accounting policy discussions with the head office and with internal and external auditors and regulators
- Held accountability for daily and weekly consolidation of stock positions, sales and sales returns
- Reviewing cash positions, payments, receipts, expenses and exceptional transactions
- Held accountable for treasury overview
- Designing and delivering technical training for new and existing accounting requirements

Requirements

- Accounting degree and CPA required
- MBA degree holders preferred
- More than 5 years of experience with public and private financial institutions, banking preferred, foreign banking in particular
- Accounting Policy Experience at a bank or experience in the Big 4 with Technical Accounting
- Banking product background such as capital markets, structured finance, retail, etc.
- Loan accounting knowledge is a huge plus
