Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic design consultancy team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative mechanical solutions that meet the needs of our diverse clientele. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems based on project requirements and specifications.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to ensure designs are viable and cost-effective.
- Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to integrate mechanical designs into larger systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design quality.
- Oversee the prototype development process and conduct testing to validate designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the manufacturing and assembly phases.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate best practices in design.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
