Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams, work with, effectively delegate to and coach junior team members to deliver effective results.
  • Develop and manage mechanical engineering projects or design deliverables for assigned projects, including investigations, report writing, design and construction administration.
  • Support and lead business development activities for the mechanical engineering group in Vancouver, as a client facing individual.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain project schedule and budget for mechanical engineering design deliverables.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and neatness of mechanical engineering deliverables as part of corporate QA/QC program.
  • Perform site investigations safely including travelling to site (including driving), walking around construction sites, carrying a ladder or other items (approximately 35 lbs) around site and climbing ladder to access ceiling space, lowering self to observe mechanical services low to ground, and committing to safety regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in local and corporate sustainability initiatives to positively advance both corporate and industry developments.
  • Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Office to prepare deliverables as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineer registered with EGBC.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in sewage treatment plants.
  • Established reputation in the local industry.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for buildings, including utilization of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
  • Desire to grow career by progressively taking on more leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to develop solutions and communicate effectively with teammates, other disciplines, subcontractors, project managers and clients.
