Job description / Role
The purchasing officer’s responsibility is to work independently and with the team to formulate and drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing, purchasing and tendering activities of items, so as to ensure value for money is maximized and cost savings generated. Interface with Sales, OP, Regulatory, QA Assurance, and Finance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Establish and follow procurement procedures and work instructions.
• Selection of sourcing for items and services suppliers.
• Create item codes for items and services.
• Initiate and create Suppliers codes according to supplier qualification process.
• Conduct periodic assessments of suppliers and initiate cost improvement programs to lower the costs consistent with service required.
• Maintain compliance to the document control and Internal/External regulations.
• Issue Purchase Orders and follow up the targeted deliveries.
• Interface with accounts payable to resolve vendor dues.
• Maintain inventory level for the stockable items.
• Perform the assigned analysis and generate the periodic reports.
• Escalate potential supply risks to the next level and provide the risk mitigation plans accordingly.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years work experience in procurement.
• Practical experience in the medical field sourcing is a plus.
• In-depth, demonstrable knowledge of the purchase-to-pay process, including drop-ship transactions
• Previous Oracle experience highly desirable
