Monitor Deloitte is currently looking to recruit a Director based in Riyadh. The Director would be responsible for leading and delivering large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative solutions to our clients’ toughest challenges. Monitor Deloitte is the strategy consulting arm of Deloitte Consulting, one of the world’s leading management consulting firms for strategy, operations, technology, and human capital advisory services.

Monitor Deloitte’s practice works with clients throughout the region. Our work in the Middle East includes a mix of corporate strategy to C-level executives, national policy development and economic development strategies to heads of state and government ministers (e.g., Minister of Finance or Minister of Economy) and advisory services to NGOs and philanthropic organizations. In recent years, we have been involved in drafting corporate strategies for TMT and financial services clients, national industrial strategies, developing new FDI promotion strategies, and creating special economic zones, among many other projects. Our consultants also work with strategy colleagues and experts from around the world, and have supported projects in Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, North America and South Asia.

Directors can expect to be involved in identifying client issues, determining approaches to solve issues, and validating analysis and developing client recommendations. They are responsible for managing client expectations on a day-to-day basis, contribute to shaping the intellectual agenda of projects, and delivering high-impact project insights and recommendations. Directors are also responsible for participating in business development activities, and mentoring junior consultants.

In addition to these core project management skills, Directors are often expected to lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, and quickly mobilize teams to deliver meaningful analysis and client recommendations. Directors are responsible for developing longer-term, strategic advisor relationships with clients, managing day-to-day aspects of increasingly large and complex projects, providing content leadership, and managing a number of ongoing sales processes.

We are looking for people who enjoy addressing business problems using large scale data sets and mathematical techniques, who have the patience to structure decision making and who strive to develop pragmatic, actionable recommendations, tempered by experience.

The Director will have responsibility for:
• Strategy development – working with our team to develop and test strategic hypotheses across a number of business domains and industries
• Workshop facilitation – leading collaborative strategy development sessions with clients, using proven Monitor Deloitte IP and methodologies
• Team Management – managing the inputs of other people from strategy and other parts of our business to support strategy development (as project size requires)
• Working closely with clients and third parties, such as academics from The Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School
• Liaising with other internal teams (e.g. Technology, Deloitte Digital, Economic Consulting) to ensure client experience is seamless
• Supporting the business development programme by leading and contributing to proposals for clients
• Developing and socialising Strategy methods, IP and research agenda

As a senior member of the Monitor Deloitte team in the Middle-East, you will be part of Deloitte’s strategy consulting practice that provides integrated Corporate & Business Unit strategy, Customer & Marketing strategy, Innovation strategy, Pricing and Demand Analytics, and Economic and Social strategy as a means to assist our clients in addressing their toughest challenges in our dynamic world.

As a key member of the TMT practice you will play a pivotal role in the expansion of a fast growing industry practice in Deloitte Middle East. You will help shape the strategic agenda of many of the regional’s telcos, media outlets, regulators and tech companies and support these companies in their transformation to thrive in a digital world.

Key roles and Responsibilities:
Directors are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways. You will work very closely with the TMT Leader for Deloitte Middle East and other Partners to develop the TMT practice for Deloitte in the Middle East. You will be at the forefront of the growth and opportunities for the TMT practice. Although your role will be primarily in selling and delivering strategy projects (for Monitor Deloitte) you will be expected to drive the growth of TMT across the other service lines.

Engagement Management:
• Lead engagement planning and budgeting
• Mobilize and manage engagement teams
• Frame the strategic problem and identify key questions to be addressed
• Define deliverable structure and content
• Drive the intellectual agenda of the project
• Facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client
• Direct on-time
• Quality delivery of work products
• Manage engagement economics
• Manage engagement risk

Client Management:
• Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
• Be perceived as a "trusted advisor"
• Build trust and long lasting relationships with clients

Business Development:
• Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients
• Develop deep relationships inside the organization of our target TMT accounts (with focus on 2-3 accounts)
• Organize and lead pursuit teams
• Focus on sell-on opportunities during live engagements
• Participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process
• Contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies

Practice Development & Eminence:
• Responsible for sales and delivery and develop practical solutions and methodologies
• Develop "thoughtware" and "point-of--view" documents
• Manage and lead public speaking events
• Get published in industry periodicals

People Development:
• Perform role of counselor and coach
• Provide input and guidance into the staffing process
• Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities
• Provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local office

What we expect you to deliver:
• Help CEOs, CXOs and senior management define their business strategies and plans, supported by in-depth TMT market understanding
• Assist CEO's CXOs and senior management in translating that vision into concrete initiatives and guide them along major business transformations
• Define commercial and customer strategies in line with corporate strategy and changing customer and channel behaviors
• Shape our clients' operating models, organizations and decision making in line with key strategic objectives by (re)defining & implementing new Target Operating Models
• Help clients to become more innovative by developing an innovation strategy, rethinking their business and/or assisting them with bringing new products and/or services to the market.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
• At least 8 years of experience in the TMT practice of a leading strategy consulting company or TMT strategy practice of a Big 4
• Must be a strategic thinker - able to clearly frame problems and articulate solutions to clients
• Good track record of managing sales and leading business development activities is a must, particularly in the Middle East
• Ability to present to C+ suite levels and above
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ideally MBA from a top international school
• Experience managing large, complex projects within a consulting environment
• A willingness to travel across the region (primarily GCC)
• Fluency in Arabic (oral and written) is a plus
