National Seafreight Manager

Jeddah

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary functions of the role are to create and implement a strategy for business development and operations in line with the overall company strategy and policies for the Seafreight Business Field, to develop and maintain profitable operations and to recruit, manage, motivate and lead the Seafreight team specialists.

The National Seafreight Manager will be the leading Seafreight position in the country and will have direct reporting responsibilities to internal stakeholders. Duties and responsibilities are carried out in line with Corporate Seafreight policies and in close partnership with corporate resources and other business fields and functional units.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS + PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
* Determines or cooperates in the determination of the business strategy and executes/secures it's implementation
* Acquires or supports the acquisition of new business and supports the account management
* Promotes customer relations and develops the existing client base
* Directs or supports the business development process (tender analysis, solution design, costing, pricing and service offering)
* Localizes the global Seafreight products to meet market expectations and requirements
* Monitors market trends and competitor activity in order to identify new business opportunities
(acquisition candidates, new services, business partners, etc.)

CARRIER MANAGEMENT
* Secures the continuity of regional or national carrier relationships
* Negotiates in the framework of the global preferred carrier program
* Evaluates home / regional carrier initiatives for local market requirements

OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE
* Ensures efficient Seafreight operations and continuously optimizes the operations by implementing standard processes in line with corporate guidelines and targets (such as Data Quality)
* Cooperates in the development and implementation of the business operation and reporting systems

CONTROL OF FINANCIAL RESULT
* Profit and loss responsibility
* Creates and monitors the annual budget, initiates corrective actions in case of deviations

HUMAN RESOURCES
* Selects, recruits and continuously reviews the performance of Seafreight key staff
* Promotes the development of talent and initiates business field-specific education and training to
ensure continuous improvement of staff qualification

Requirements

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* The ideal candidate has a Bachelors Degree in a related field, Masters Degree would be considered a plus
* Prior experience in Sea Logistics of minimum 5 years is mandatory
* Leadership experience of minimum 2 years is essential for the role
* Advanced written and verbal communication in the English language is mandatory, intermediate knowledge of Arabic language would be considered an advantage
* Good analytical skills
* Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrated attention to detail
* Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
