Our client hospital which has a 2000 bed capacity, is based in the Central Region of Saudi Arabia. The facility includes the largest dedicated Children's Hospital in the Middle East which opened in June 2015. A state-of-the art developments such as Cardiac and Liver Center; Emergency Care and Trauma Center continues to be the best Trauma Care Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is ranked as the 4th Emergency Care Center outside the United States of America, to provide (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support program. Dental, Ambulatory (Outpatient) Care, Long Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Other adult and pediatric services provided include: Surgical and Medical wards, Oncology. Obstetrics and Gynecology (Labor and Delivery, Oncology, Antenatal and Post Partum wards); Oncology, Neonatal ICU, Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Program, VIP Wards, Royal Suite, College of Medicine and Nursing College.

Description

- Unit Name: Urgi-Care Center
- Patient Population: Pediatric Newborn to 14 years old. Mixed gender
- Hours of Operation: 24 hours / 7 days per week
- # of Beds: 11 beds

Primary Patient Diagnoses

- Level 4 & 5 patients in accordance with Canadian Triage Acuity Scale.
- Level 3 patients who meet agreed criteria for assessment in PRAM 1 (see criteria available on unit)
- All common medical pediatric emergencies:
• Mild Asthma
• Mild Gastroenteritis
• Urinary Tract Infections
• Mild Fever
• Mild Dental Emergencies

- Minor Trauma & Injuries:
• Sprains/Strains
• Minor Lacerations
• Simple Fracture
• Minor Head Injury

Nursing Procedures

- Management of patients according to International Patient Safety Goals.
- Treatment and review of patients requiring brief Interventional Management with a 4-4
- Hour time frame prior to discharge home.
• Suturing
• Casting of simple fractures
• Wound dressing
• Naso-gastric tube insertion
• Urinary Catherization
• Venipuncture
• IV/PO/PR Medication Administration
• Point of Care Testing
• Patient and Family Health Education

Requirements

- Two (2) years current clinical experience in specific area of practice
- Diploma or Degree in nursing from the following countries (Professional Connections is contracted by our client to source and assist nurses from the this list of Countries)
