About the role

As an EYFS teacher, you will be instrumental in creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that aligns with the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. You’ll foster curiosity, creativity, and independence in our youngest learners while preparing them for a lifelong journey of growth and discovery.

Key responsibilities

Teaching & learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and age-appropriate lessons based on the EYFS curriculum.
  • Promote a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and SEND pupils.
  • Embed early literacy and numeracy through phonics programmes such as Jolly Phonics or Letters and Sounds.

Assessment & progress

  • Observe, assess, and document children’s development using platforms like Tapestry.
  • Use assessments to plan personalised next steps and track progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain strong communication with parents.

Learning environment

  • Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and social development.
  • Reflect and celebrate the diversity of the school community.

Communication & collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other staff members.
  • Participate in parent meetings, open days, school events, and extracurricular activities.

Professional conduct

  • Uphold the ethos and values of Aldenham Prep Riyadh.
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies.
  • Engage in ongoing CPD and contribute to school development initiatives.

Person specification

Essential:

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE with QTS or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching within the EYFS.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and British curriculum expectations.

Desirable:

  • Experience in international or bilingual school settings.
  • Paediatric First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc or Jolly Phonics.
  • Proficiency with digital assessment tools like Tapestry.
