Overview of the department/section

The Operations team in MUFG Riyadh Branch has one VP as the Head of the Department, two AVPs and one Analyst.

Main purpose of the role

To carry out all transactions processing in Riyadh Branch.

Key responsibilities

Essential functions:

  • Conduct and execute all transactions processing within the branch mainly including: Trade Finance Products (Export, Import & Guarantees), Loans (Bilateral, Syndicated and project finance), Cash Management (account opening, remittance including SAR clearing and online banking), Treasury Products such as FX and Money Market and Islamic Finance Products.
  • Booking and data entry of all KSA based transactions in the core banking system T24.
  • Communicate with Saudi based clients and cater to their requirements on daily basis.
  • Prepare SAR payments in SARIE and escalate to the right channel as appropriate.
  • Escalate any and all incidents and key identified risks to the Operations Manager.
  • Participate in Saudi based governance committees mainly Operations Risk and Control committee, Business Continuity Plan Committee, New Product Approval and any other committee as appropriate when requested.
  • Prepare all process manuals, workflows, guidelines and procedures in line with the bank standard procedures.
  • Adhere to the Head of KSA Office requirements.
  • Prepare and submit management periodic reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit Operations regulatory reporting requirements in coordination with appropriate teams.
  • Handle internal and external audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support the development of the Branch as the best working place in MUFG.
  • Carry out several roles if required when the necessary skillset and experience allows.

Data protection

Acting as the data protection business process owner (BPO) for Operations Department with responsibility for the following:

  • Complying with the transparency requirements (as detailed in the Data Protection Policy).
  • Ensuring there are lawful grounds for processing personal data.
  • Ensuring personal data are used and stored in accordance with the purposes communicated to individuals.
  • Ensuring data being collected are relevant and not excessive for the purpose for which the personal data were collected.
  • Taking reasonable steps where appropriate to ensure data is kept accurate and up to date.
  • Ensuring, in consultation with Systems as necessary, that personal data are adequately protected against accidental or unlawful processing and against destruction, accidental loss or damage.
  • Undertake privacy impact assessments when there are significant changes to the business process in consultation with the DPOs.
  • Ensuring personal data is not transferred to locations not deemed to have adequate protections where transfer restrictions apply.
  • Ensuring that personal data are not retained for longer than necessary.
  • Ensuring that their records of processing activities (RoPA) are kept up to date and accurate.

Work experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working within banking operations field covering various areas including Trade Finance, Treasury, Remittances, Loans and Cash Management.

Education and skills

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Background using T24 core banking system.
  • Excellent experience on SARIE.
  • Great knowledge of various SWIFT applications.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong team working skills.
  • KSA national.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic essential.

Performance and duties

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity's performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.
