Job Description
- Design, research, and build of an industrial robotic application and factory automation systems.
- Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application.
- Assist in designing robotic systems from start to finish.
- Develop and implement software that will control robots.
- Create prototypes and work on necessary components (e.g., microprocessors).
- Develop cost-effective and efficient processes to produce the machines.
- Create complete documentation for robotic systems.
- Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize their functionality.
- Troubleshoot defects in the robot design.
- Keep abreast of advancements in robotics and relevant fields of engineering.
- Assess project requirements and system specifications based on international standards, industrial requirements, and regulations.
- Develop manufacturing drawings and bill of material.
- Design electro-mechanical components and follow up on implementation.
- Select the components required to execute the design.
- Develop and test design models with the use of software programs to assess feasibility.
- Assist in the development and applying test plans.
- Integrate the system and perform initial and field tests.
- Participate in product assembly.
- Might attend coordination or kick-off meetings as necessary.
- Investigate the cause of equipment and system failures and fix them.
- Recommend design modifications to ensure there will be no malfunctions in the system or in the machine.

Technical Skills
- Industrial Automation & Control Systems: PLC programming (Programmable Logic Controllers): Proficiency in ladder logic, function block diagrams, structured text, and other PLC programming languages (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley RSLogix).
- HMI/SCADA Software: Expertise in configuring and developing human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware InTouch, Ignition, FactoryTalk View, WinCC OA, CitectSCADA).
- Instrumentation & Measurement: Understanding of various sensors, transducers, and actuators used in industrial processes.
- Control Theory: Knowledge of control loops, PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controllers, and feedback systems.
- Industrial Networking: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, OPC UA, DNP3, Ethernet/IP).
- Networking & Communication: TCP/IP networking: Understanding of network addressing, routing, and protocols.
- Network Security: Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats.
- Wireless Communication: Familiarity with wireless communication technologies used in SCADA systems (e.g., radio, cellular, satellite).
- Serial Communication: Understanding of serial communication protocols (e.g., RS-232, RS-485).
- Database & Data Management: Database systems: Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) for storing and retrieving SCADA data.
- Data Historians: Experience with data historians for collecting and analyzing historical process data.
- Reporting & Analytics: Ability to generate reports and dashboards to visualize SCADA data.
Education
BSc of Engineering with a specialization in electronics, communication, or electrical engineering.
