Overview

We are seeking a senior geologist with a strong petrophysical background to join Contingent Resource Exploration Division of Eastern Area Exploration Department with the focus to look into Contingent hydrocarbon resources and propose solutions to upgrade them into the proved reserves. Duties cover opportunity maturation and integration of well results.

EAED has great influence on the Organization as a part, and on the Company as whole. We aim to meet the demand of hydrocarbon resources and obtain a sustainable amount of oil and gas recovery to replace the ongoing production. EAED is the spinal cord of the Exploration Organization, where all other departments provide their support to reach the optimal goal of oil and gas discoveries. We look forward to sustaining the kingdom's dominant oil and gas position by growing the proven resources, and increasing the exploration success rate. Furthermore, finding oil and gas resources through strategic exploration methods that integrate the best talent, optimal processes and technologies in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Team members are responsible to evaluate all the contingencies for reserves booking, propose action plan to resolve those contingencies, secure management approvals and performing post-drill analysis.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be required to perform the following:
- Experienced in Open and cased hole logs processing and interpretation
- Strong understanding of rig operations, mud gas and advanced cuttings analysis
- Expertise in multimin analysis, rock typing and facies analysis using wireline data
- Recommends petrophysical data acquisition programs to reduce uncertainties
- Conduct technical evaluations of Special Core Analysis (SCAL) data integrated with wireline logs
- Knowledge and familiarity with core description and thin section analysis for petrophysical integration
- Experienced in porosity and permeability modelling and saturation height function
- Familiar with low resistivity pay solutions
- Use industry-standard interpretation and geographical information system tools
- Preparing and presenting professional-quality presentation materials to technical peers and management
- Provide mentoring and technical assistance to young professionals
- Able to take critical decisions and solve problems
- Works in multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

- As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor or higher degree in Geology.
- Twenty years of experience in petrophysical evaluation for clastic and carbonate reservoirs in exploration and development wells.
- The candidate should have a strong expertise in planning wellbore data acquisition, quality control and interpretation of petrophysical data using industry standard softwares such as Techlog and Geolog in both deterministic and multimin analyses. Optimize data acquisition programs and provide accurate, reliable and timely petrophysical solutions to ensure proper technical evaluation of hydrocarbon potential. Formation pressure data analysis for fluid type, contacts and pressure communication evaluation. Able to review and interpret open & cased hole logs. Experienced in integrated studies utilizing logs, cores, geological, geophysical & production data including RCA and SCAL analysis and saturation height functions.
- English language fluency with the capability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
