Pre-Sales Engineer - IT Networking/Telecom/Automation

Job description / Role

Job Purpose:
Prime purpose of Pre-Sales Engineer is to support after sales queries and provide complete solution to networking and wireless technology portfolio. Pre-Sales Engineer will support customers by resolving complex technical problems by providing systems programming assistance, informal product / system trainings, troubleshooting, fault finding and coordinates hardware, software system project and attends to emergency situations onsite / offsites.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all networking technical support to sales on assigned brands.
• Provide pre-sales support for the complete networking product and Industrial communication portfolio.
• Support the Sales with Bid/Tender documents and proposals, from early-stage design, budget phase, proposal and also negotiation and clarifications.
• Prepares BOQ based for technical documents (RFQ, RFP and others)
• Participates in customer meetings, Identify and gathers customer requirements, develop and propose system designs aiming to assist the customer with a highly reliable system.
• Provide technical product presentation for functionality as well as conduct customer workshops and training as and when required
• Become the Subject Matter Expert for the company’s products and solutions
• Participate in network planning with customers to provide guidance on applications, usage, integration and best practices
• Responsible for carrying out site visits for preparation of technical documentation as and when required by the company.
• Manage RMA process (reception, processing, return of faulty and repaired/replaced products, as and when needed).
• Prior Experience of working in distribution of Industrial automation, Networking, Wireless, CCTV, Telecommunication product service is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience in presales engineering, technical sales, or a similar role, with a focus on networking technologies (such as routing, switching, firewall, VPN, SD-WAN, etc.).
• Experience with network architecture design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, BGP, OSPF) and technologies like LAN, WAN, wireless, and SDN.
• Experience in diverse industrial automation sector such as Oil & Gas, Critical Infrastructure, Power Utilities, Energy, Transportation & others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles, including demonstrations, presentations, and solution design.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science majoring in Networking / Telecommunication / Wireless Technology.
• Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, Juniper, etc.).
• Prior Experience of working in distribution of Industrial automation, Networking, Wireless, CCTV, Telecommunication product service is preferred.
