Overview

The Hydrocarbon Phase Behavior Unit (HPBU) supports Exploration, Reservoir Management, Production and Well Testing Organizations in the area of technical support and consultation of reservoir fluids phase behavior.

The position shall provide technical support, consultation and laboratory services in characterization of reservoir fluids (PVT) to different operating departments in Saudi Arabia. The job is a full-time employee position reporting to the supervisor of the HPBU, which is part of the EXPEC ARC Advanced Technical Services Division.

The candidate shall Initiate, lead, provide technical support, laboratory services, and conduct advanced technical studies/applied research on reservoir fluids characterization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultation related to reservoir fluids phase behavior and characterization based on field and Lab PVT Data (Pressure, Volume and Temperature)
• Conduct short-term investigations and researches related to reservoir fluids, analyze trail results and make recommendations
• Develop PVT models (EOS) to predict Areal/Vertical variation in fluid properties for a field
• Review and enhance data quality of PVT technical reports
• Lead advanced laboratory technical studies and assist in researches and technology projects
• Introduce new technologies related to fluids phase behavior and production enhancement
• Serve as liaison with service companies and academic sectors in advanced investigations, applied researches and matter related to PVT lab testing, quality controls, equipment upgrading and other cooperative technical exchange
• Troubleshoot/upgrades PVT lab equipment
• Train and mentor young engineers and lab technicians

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry Science
• Advanced degree e.g. MSc or PhD in technical disciplines is preferred
• 15 years-experience in in the oil industry and lab work specialized in Fluids Compositional Analysis and PVT studies
• Expert and knowledgeable in the reservoir fluids behavior and characterization including lab testing and modeling
• Familiar with tuning of EOS (commercial PVT Package)
• Excellent knowledge and hands on experience on PVT lab equipment
