Principal Electrical Designer

Job description / Role

Overall Summary

Principal electrical designer with proven experience in the design of substations, transmission and distribution systems in the oil & gas, hydrocarbon and/or infrastructure industries. Minimum 15 years' experience in FEED and detailed engineering of medium to large scale projects is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plant and facility layout support and coordination
• Plant and facility layout and distribution
• Develop area classifications drawings
• Develop equipment layout
• Develop physical design drawings (grounding/earthing, lighting protection, lighting voltage drop calculations, AG power & control, UG cable/conduit, cable tray designs, etc.)
• Develop LV/MV schematics

Qualifications & Years of Experience:

Minimum bachelor of science in electrical engineering or equivalent certification, with a minimum of 15 years' design experience in oil & gas, hydrocarbon and/or infrastructure industries.

Key Skills & Technical Competencies:

• Must be a reliable designer who can work independently and able to lead/guide a team of 5-10 electrical designers
• Must be proficient in developing design drawings using Microstation
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco CADD standards is an advantage
• Must have excellent knowledge & understanding of design practices, construction practices and procedures
• Must be proficient in English; oral and written communication.
