Job description

WSP Middle East are currently seeking skilled and dynamic professionals to join our roads & highways design team at either principal engineer or associate level in our Jeddah office in Saudi Arabia. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership in coordinating multi-disciplinary design efforts.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the design of roads and highways projects from concept to detailed design stages, ensuring adherence to international and local design standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to establish project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to design teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables and innovative solutions.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to achieve seamless integration of project components.
  • Support business development activities by contributing to proposal writing, project costing, and client presentations.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, standards, and technologies in road and highway design.

Qualifications

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in roads and highways design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience working on design projects within the Middle East, ideally in Saudi Arabia.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering design software such as Civil 3D, InRoads, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of local KSA regulations, standards, and practices related to road and highway projects.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
