The Principal Services Architect (PSA) is a senior customer-facing expert responsible for driving strategic, architecture-led engagements in SAP's CoE-led delivery model. This role focuses on delivering enterprise-wide transformation through logistics domain mastery across S/4HANA and the broader SAP Intelligent Enterprise. The PSA serves as both a strategic advisor and architecture owner—shaping transformation scope, mapping business requirements to technical solutions, and orchestrating execution with precision. This includes full accountability for project scoping, effort estimation, and Statement of Work (SoW) ownership.

Primary responsibilities

Architecture leadership
  • Lead the logistics architecture strategy and design across large-scale SAP transformation programs, with a focus on S/4HANA.
  • Design and validate end-to-end architectures for hybrid, multi-cloud, or on-premise landscapes.
  • Ensure alignment of logistics solutions with SAP reference architectures, best practices, and industry requirements.
  • Provide governance and quality assurance across the delivery lifecycle to secure solution integrity.
  • Scoping, estimation & SoW development
  • Own the creation of Statements of Work (SoW) for logistics-focused engagements, ensuring clear deliverables, assumptions, and success metrics.
  • Scope SAP projects from discovery through realization, aligning architectural designs with commercial constructs and delivery feasibility.
  • Perform effort estimation, resource modeling, and risk profiling to guide bid management and service contracting.
  • Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, and delivery managers to secure project sign-off and alignment with CoE standards.
  • Strategic customer engagement
  • Translate business objectives into solution blueprints by mapping business requirements to technical designs with clarity and precision.
  • Advise executive stakeholders on supply chain digitization, logistics optimization, and architecture modernization.
  • Drive customer engagement from discovery to realization phases, embedding logistics architecture strategy into business transformation.
  • Articulate value-based architecture roadmaps aligned with SAP's Intelligent Enterprise vision.
  • Delivery excellence & reuse enablement
  • Guide delivery teams and CoE consultants on architecture standards and reuse of proven logistics patterns and accelerators.
  • Support delivery assurance, mitigate design risks, and mentor junior architects.
  • Partner with account and delivery leadership to accelerate time-to-value and customer satisfaction.
  • Innovation, escalation, and advisory
  • Embed intelligent automation, SAP BTP, and AI/ML capabilities into logistics processes (e.g., predictive MRP, real-time inventory visibility).
  • Act as the design authority in escalated engagements or turnaround scenarios.
  • Lead logistics-specific design decisions in complex programs and co-innovation initiatives.
  • Experience requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (Program Manager, Architect, etc.) with strong focus on logistics processes and architecture.
  • 10+ years in SAP process implementation, including at least 6 full-cycle implementations covering logistics topics.
  • Proven track record of shaping complex transformation engagements through architecture, scoping, and solution framing.
