Overview

We are looking for Corrosion Engineer to join Hawiyah Gas Plant Department.

HGP was brought on stream in September 2001 as the first gas plant in Saudi Aramco that processed only non-associated gas. HGP current processing capacity is 2.5 BSCFD of feed gas and 240 MBD of Hydrocarbon condensate. HGP receives sour and sweet feed gas through two gas manifolds, Hawiyah and Haradh that have more than 200 wells connected to them from Hawiyah.

You will process design modifications in utilities, gas treatment, gas handling or sulfur recovery facilities. Provide engineering analysis, design and control of assigned projects. The process Engineer shall check the plant performance to ensure it is running up to its design.

You should have a full Process Engineering knowledge involved with advanced Gas Processing and Conditioning, Sulfur Recovery processes, Gas Treating processes, Gas and Liquid Dehydration and NGL Recovery processes. You should also master process simulations programs related to gas processing and should have certifications to assure adequate technical report writing, presentation, communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Design, review and modify and ensure well established corrosion and inspection programs to meet the industry best practices and standards that include but not limited to the following programs:
On Stream Inspection
External Inspection
Corrosion Under Insulation
Chemical Injection
Turnaround & Inspection
Evaluate existing corrosion programs, corrosion circuits, estimate corrosion rates and recommend required corrective actions.
Evaluate, review and implement corrosion related activities such as but not limited to
Review and accommodate additional requirements of Corrosion Control Documents "CCDs" for each of HGP units.
Review HGP expansion project document and perform the required validation (including OSI packages, preservation, corrosion programs and RBIs).
Evaluate and investigate HGP corrosion findings resulted from field composition changes and other causes.
Understand PIPI assessment and close all identified gaps.
Perform cost effective corrosion assessment for HGP plant chronic issues.

Provide technical support in Inspection Activities, Integrity evaluation for all equipment, interpret the inspection results and recommend the corrective actions, and fitness for service evaluations.
Develop T&I inspection scope and procedures for plant equipment to verify all potential damage mechanisms; take corrective action to maintain plant equipment reliability; implement internal inspection program and document Internal Inspection report and documentation.
Responsible to ensure approved and updated EIS is available in the unit for all equipment in the plant; ensures EIS revisions are effectively made as required by SAEP-20 and ensure deviations are processed for overdue equipment on time.
Support RBI facilitator to conduct RBI study; responsible to implement RBI study recommendation and responsible to initiate the RBI study update.
Verify NDT procedure qualification to Saudi Aramco requirements; responsible to verify NDT technician qualification and certification; conduct and assign proper NDT to identify potential damage mechanisms to the unit equipment.
Develop required inspection worksheet for any corrective action to the unit equipment; ensure timely execution to inspection worksheets; maintain and update the records based on the worksheet.
Carry out refractory inspection and develop repair scope.
Carry out boiler inspection and repair.
Carry out inspection and repaired for flare, sulfur and burn bits.
Carry out inspection and recommend required repair procedure for tanks.
Conduct and assist in risk assessment when it comes to inspection requirement or corrosion assessment.
Support unit MOC implementation and reflect the changes into inspection programs.
Support the new construction activities and carry out required inspection; maintain and update the inspection program and documentation for the new construction.

NACE Basic Corrosion. NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist
NACE Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist
Coating Inspector Program Level 1
Coating Inspector Program Level 2
CP1 - Cathodic Protection Tester
CP2 - Cathodic Protection Technician
API 571 Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining
API 580 Risk Based Inspection

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you should have a BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with (15) years of experience in relevant gas processing operation facilities in Oil/Gas Industry, knowledge and experience in designing and implementing corrosion monitoring programs, and strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards with minimum 12 years in corrosion related field.

You should have excellent experience and knowledge in design and modification, reviewing the standards and how to develop and evaluate corrosion program.
