Engineering Services
As a Senior Process Engineer within our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, you will provide high-level technical expertise and oversight for a world-scale petrochemical facility. Acting as a primary interface between the client and the EPC contractor, you will ensure that the process design is technically sound, meets all safety and environmental requirements, and aligns with the project’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Design Oversight: Review and validate the EPC contractor's process deliverables, including Heat & Material Balances (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Technical Validation: Perform and verify independent process simulations (steady-state and dynamic) and hydraulic calculations for complex piping networks and flare systems.
• Safety Leadership: Lead and participate in critical process safety workshops, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL studies, ensuring all action items are closed and safeguards are implemented.
• Equipment Sizing & Specification: Oversee the sizing and selection of major equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, and compressors, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.
• PMC Interface: Provide technical guidance to construction and commissioning teams, supporting plant startup, performance testing, and nameplate verification.
• Change & Risk Management: Evaluate process-related design changes for cost, schedule, and safety impacts, advising the Project Manager on optimal technical solutions.
Requirements:
• Education: Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience: 10–15 years of process engineering experience in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a PMC or lead design role.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in industry-standard simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or HTRI.
• Standards Knowledge: Deep familiarity with API, ASME, and other relevant international standards for petrochemical plant design.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Experience in brownfield upgrades, tie-ins, and complex plant integration.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring junior engineers and managing multi-disciplinary interfaces.
