Process Engineer - ASU System
We are currently looking for a Process Engineer Utilities - Air Separation Units with background in Mining, Chemicals, Salt Business to join our Worley team. The qualified individual will demonstrate significant, direct industry experience designing and engineering ASU systems in a lead role for major projects developing FEED and detailed designs with key engineering companies or EPC contractors. The expectations of this role are to develop and lead engineering designs in Air Separation Units (ASU) systems, to ensure design integrity whilst applying best engineering practices. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards within the boundaries of the Project Basis of Design.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join a world class team and work in one of the largest brine beneficiation projects globally, which is being engineered to "supply greener" base products such as salt, gypsum, magnesium chloride and further refined products including green PVC from CO2 capture, green glass, magnesium metal, magnesium oxide, bromine and gypsum wallboard among others.

This is a full-time role with the opportunity to work out of several Worley offices globally depending on your location.

As our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role, your responsibilities will consist of the following tasks:

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Develop designs competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, assuring that project objectives are satisfied.
- Complete integration with other team members: engineers, designers, and technical personnel in the execution of the project.
- Ensure integrity of work scope and that all work is carried out in accordance with Technical Standards and Company Procedures related to Discipline.
- Active participation and engagement to assure a productive and cohesive team.
- Consistent work development as per Worley's Quality Management System.
- Develop designs and promote initiatives to improve cost effectiveness on projects implementation.
- Manage performance appraisals, competency development and career development of assigned personnel.
- Identify and review new technologies development which may provide more efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Compliance with Regulatory, Legal, Quality and Company Requirements.
- Developing and checking of calculations, data sheets, technical notes, requisitions, specifications, drawings and similar deliverables produced within Discipline.
- Input into Basis of Designs, Design Scopes, and FEED Studies.
- Specification, selection, detail design in collaboration with multi-discipline engineers and designers through vendor document review and approval.
- Efficient allocation of time.
- Maintaining effective relationships with: - Engineering Manager, Worley Engineers, and Designers - Project Managers - Client Representatives.
- Quality Assurance - Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit
- Safety - Responsible for personal safety, safe working practices for the chemical industry. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.


Requirements

Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
- A minimum of 15 years executing engineering projects (stand alone or as part of a program/portfolio). Global / Middle East EPcM, EPC and/or BOO project execution with total project values greater than $75 million USD
- A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of engineering practices applicable to process design for industrial facilities.
- Extensive current design experience is required gained with notable engineering firms or EPC contractors within the mining, chemical or salt industries.
- Sufficient knowledge of ASU systems.
- Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Electrical, Piping and Mechanical systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Industrial Relations - Conversant with industrial relations as they impact on the partnering contract.
- Commitment to personal well-being and a pro-active approach to continuously improving health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Understands current best practices, key technologies and technology suppliers, technology integration, facility constructability and operability, and contractors in brine processing industry.
- Understand brine industry benchmark projects and pricing.
- Flexibility to travel and work effectively with team members in other offices remotely.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to plan, review, edit reports, other engineering and construction deliverables.
- Language skills in Arabic, Spanish, or French is a plus.
