Role Summary:

The Production Quality Specialist is responsible for driving process & product quality by reducing defects within repair processes. Successful candidates must partner with salaried & hourly staff to build quality into each step of the repair. Production Quality Specialist must develop QMS expertise to support the leadership in maintaining compliance and striving for excellence through continuous improvement activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Operationalizing and sustaining Fulfilment-5 metrics related to Quality (Web CRT compliance, RCA/RCI cycle, CoPQ tracking etc).
- Driving a 'zero exception' culture with Quality; sustaining Operations compliance to Regulatory & Non Regulatory regulations by engaging the shop floor operators on a daily basis.
- Helping the Operations team to operationalize & ensure compliance to QMS procedures.
- Leading defect reduction projects and working inclusively with EHS and Engineering to resolve shop floor quality issues promptly.
- Driving On-Time-Delivery for the Cell through the elimination of rework loops driven by quality issues affecting FPY.
- Championing quality initiatives and CoPQ reduction projects in the cell.
- Championing 5S Lean initiatives within the cell.
- Conducting assigned audits and developing effective CAPA plans.
- Supporting training activities for new employees or when job changes take place in compliance with GEMTEC training verification process.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Experience and leadership.
- Ability to lead and motivate others within a team environment.
- Good understanding of workshop practices/processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change.
- Strong communication & organizational skills.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Demonstrated EHS and Quality focus.
- Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office minimum).

Desired Characteristics:

- BS/BA/BEng degree in Engineering or Business
- Six Sigma Green Certified (preferred)
- Project Management skills
- Experience with Lean deployment
- Good working knowledge of manufacture/repair processes associated with GE Gas Turbine components
- Certified as an auditor (preferred)
- Certified for RCA leader (preferred)
