Job description / Role

Job Responsibilities:

• Works primarily as a library liaison in support of other Center components’ programs. In this role, the incumbent coordinates and participates in all aspects of internal Center programming that relate to Library resources and services, including planning, implementation, and logistics for in-house events including author presentations, receptions, exhibition openings, tours as well as external special events or activities in the community. As needed, the incumbent will support Library-specific outreach initiatives.
• Contacts various community groups and agencies, as necessary and as directed, to develop outreach programming.
• Develop and implement a broad range of library-related educational programs and activities for children including story hours, library tours, and instructional classes in library use;
• Work closely with staff, volunteers, and outside vendors in planning and executing events. Engages in close working relationship with other Public Services and Center staff in order to ensure high quality support by the Library.
• Answers and responds (written and orally) to inquiries related to public programming. Oversees internal communications necessary for execution of events and produces reports as needed. Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual community program calendars in a variety of formats.
• Prepares for and trains library volunteers to support such activities.

Requirements

Bachelor of Library with 2-3yrs of experience in preparing and delivering library programs in his current job or previous job and he should have good communication skills so that he can engage large audience and deliver the programs.
