Project Manager – Oil & Gas Construction

The Role

a)Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in construction projects. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for the position.

b)Oversees all phases of construction projects assigned. Liaises with clients from initial scoping of the project through to finalization. Coordinates work on the preparation, scheduling and planning of assigned projects.

c)Carries out activities related to the tendering process, liaises with clients and assists in the preparation of bids and tenders and with contracts negotiations.

d)Oversees the preparation of drawings and schematics for project planning and control.

e)Liaises with Finance and Accounting Department on individual construction projects to ensure adequate financial control of the project.

f)Liaises with client on progress billings, extra work orders and handles non-conformity issues according to terms and conditions of the relevant project contract.

g)Undertakes the specification of equipment required for purchase, including major items which represent a considerable capital investment to the company.

h)Assumes overall responsibility for the safety of projects carried out by Construction Division.

i)Undertakes similar or related duties as required, such as support of maintenance shutdowns and selection of professional and skilled workers. Coordinates the movement of tools and equipment within construction projects.


a)Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience with considerable working knowledge of the skilled jobs performed in construction engineering.

b)12 years or more extensive hands on experience with capital plant and heavy construction facilities in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries. Of the total experience, a min of 8 years experience is required in a similar managerial capacity. Experience in Middle East is preferred.
