Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for a Protection Engineer (Saudi National) on a permanent basis in Riyadh, KSA.
We are seeking a highly skilled Protection Engineer (HVDC) to join a team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. This role involves developing full-scale project plans, delegating tasks, and monitoring project performance to ensure successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management
• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for HVDC projects.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Lead project teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
• Monitor and control project progress, addressing risks and issues proactively.

Technical Coordination
• Engage with clients to determine HVDC system design parameters.
• Ensure compliance with client expectations, requirements, and processes throughout all project phases.
• Manage system design deliverables while minimizing time and cost without compromising quality.
• Provide technical expertise on HVDC project requirements and solutions.

Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary interface for stakeholder communication and expectation management.
• Lead project meetings, provide regular updates, and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Evaluate design changes, concession requests, and participate in change management procedures.

Continuous Improvement
• Evaluate project performance, identify lessons learned, and implement improvement initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities
• Review control and protection schematics and technical documents.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing and vendor offer evaluations.
• Oversee resource allocation and ensure efficient utilization.

Requirements:

• Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electric Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including independent execution of at least one HVDC project.
• Skills: Strong project management capabilities and technical expertise in protection systems and substation design.

Preferred Skills and Experience
• Knowledge of SAS systems, CT, CVT, PT applications, and relay protection functions.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven experience in client discussions and document approval processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and meet deadlines effectively.

Salary:
SAR 28000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
