Job description / Role

Job Responsibilities:
• Provides reference and/or circulation desk assistance as scheduled, answering basic reference and directional questions, and signing out laptops and other computer hardware
• Registers patrons for Internet and computer use, performs related data entry and assists with logons process as needed
• Assists patrons with access to special Library services, such as study and viewing rooms
• Assists Library patrons with the use of both print and electronic resources
• Performs general office duties, e.g. answering phones, filing, photocopying, stocking patron supplies,
• Supervise the children’s section to ensure it remains orderly and compliant with Library policies
• Analyze and respond to community interests and concerns regarding library collections and services.
• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to both children and parents
• Advise and assist Library patrons in the use of Library services and finding tools
• Prepare reading lists and bibliographies
• Participate in the organization of school visits to promote library
• Monitor and evaluate children’s library support staff and volunteers
• Assists in the delivery of library programs as required

Requirements

Bachelor of Library with minimum 2 yrs of Library experience working in school/colleges or any library handling inventory/Desk Services/Circulation/Shelving/Reference Services & collection Management with Good Communication Skills.
