QA QC Manager

Job description / Role

As the QA/QC Manager within our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, you will be the final authority on quality assurance and quality control for a world-scale petrochemical development. You will lead the oversight of the EPC contractor’s quality management system (QMS), ensuring that all engineering, procurement, and construction activities meet the stringent technical specifications, international codes, and "Right First Time" standards required for a high-hazard industrial facility.

Key Responsibilities
• Quality Governance: Develop and implement the PMC Quality Management Plan, ensuring full alignment with client requirements and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Contractor Surveillance: Review and approve the EPC contractor’s Quality Control Plans (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) across all disciplines.
• Audit & Compliance: Lead comprehensive internal and external quality audits, identifying non-conformances (NCRs) and ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are closed out.
• Procurement Quality: Oversee the global inspection program for long-lead equipment, managing third-party inspection agencies at vendor shops to ensure compliance before site delivery.
• Field Inspections: Direct a team of multi-disciplinary inspectors to monitor site activities, including welding/NDT, coating, civil works, and electrical installations.
• Turnover & Certification: Oversee the progressive compilation of Quality Dossiers and Mechanical Completion certificates to ensure a seamless transition to the Commissioning team.

• Education: Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Metallurgy preferred).
• Experience: 15+ years of QA/QC experience in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry, with at least 8 years in a management role on large-scale PMC/EPC projects.
• Certifications: Qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor; additional certifications such as CSWIP/AWS (Welding) or NACE/FROSIO (Coating) are highly advantageous.
• Standards Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in ASME, API, ASTM, and AWS codes and standards.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Proven track record of managing quality on projects involving complex modular fabrication and high-alloy metallurgy.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence contractor behaviour and maintain high quality-standards under tight schedule pressures.
• Experience with digital quality management systems and electronic data handover.
