Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Kentz, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, are currently looking for QC Inspector Civil for a project in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
- Civil Inspector shall have a thorough working knowledge of recognized building codes such as the Uniform Building Code (UBC) or equivalent standards
- Attend all necessary inspections and testing’s as identified in the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- Inspect the production quality to establish if the client requirements are being achieved.
- Shall perform a variety of inspection functions under supervision
- Record and document any and all deviations from the Project Quality Program and the Kentz Management System (KMS).
- Update the QEIL system with any and all deviations from the Project Quality Program and the Kentz Management System (KMS).
- Coordinate with the client representatives to ensure that inspections are carried out expediently.
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for Hold, Witness and Inspection points.
- Performance of Testing processes as required
- Carry out inspections on Exception Items (EI) as documented in the QEIL and sign off as closed when activity is approved & complete.
- Continually carry out surveillance inspections on the project, recording and documenting any and all deviations from the Project Quality Program and the Kentz Management System (KMS).
- Review the calibration status of any test equipment being utilized on the project ensuring the equipment is within calibration prior to use.
- Provide support to the construction personnel in relation to the Project Quality Program and the Kentz Management System (KMS)
- Maintain a good working relationship with all Kentz and Client personnel.
- Maintain good record keeping of activities carried out and inspection reports, surveillance reports, etc.
- Utilize where possible more efficient methods of communication / travel to maximize the cost effectiveness in an effort to minimize departmental expenditure e.g. project & resource planning, travel etc.
- Ensure SSHE Inspections are being conducted on project sites & within work areas as per project SSHE activity schedule
- Where required assist with the development of project Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) and associated QRs & TRs for the project scope of works in accordance with the contract requirements, applicable legislative, local government & other regulatory requirements.
- Perform ongoing material receival inspections (MRI) to confirm Material Requisitions (MR), Purchase Orders (P.O) & delivered to site (MRR) Material Receival Report has been completed in accordance with the contract Technical & Specification requirements, and associated approvals within PaMMs
- Maintain willingness to learn and support the Inspector providing the on the job training
- Comply with all Project SSHE requirements i.e. PPE, work Permits etc.
- Promote the use SSHE practices
- Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time

Requirements

- QC Inspector shall be a Trade Qualified / Diploma holder or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years experience.
- Shall be fully conversant with applicable Industry Standards and Specifications
- Computer literate, familiar with proprietary administration software.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communicator.
- Maintain a good standard of written and spoken English
- The Inspector shall comply with the discipline specific criteria noted below
- The Inspector shall meet as a minimum the following years of relevant experience
