Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible To: Supervisor, Respiratory Services

Basic Function:
• Within the mission,vision and values of the hospital Serve as a resource to health care providers in relation to technical and therapeutic aspects of Respiratory Care

Principle Duties:
• Apply ventilators and other forms of respiratory therapy including therapeutic gases and aerosolized medications to patients and monitors the patient's response.
• Modify therapy/techniques based on clinical and laboratory data in consultation with the physician.
• Perform assorted pulmonary hygiene procedures and assesses the effectiveness of therapy.
• Interpret basic EKG tracings and document clinical assessments.
• Perform Arterial Punctures, Advanced Airway Management, Bronchoscopy and other invasive procedures.
• Provide assistance to the team leader in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Ensure maintenance and safe operation of equipment.
• Comply with hospital infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist in the orientation as assigned by the supervisor.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in Medical
• Radiation Therapy Technology or equivalent OR Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology from an accredited certifying agent - E
• Valid license to practice Radiotherapy from an authorized body or government agency - E
• Minimum of five (5) years Postgraduate/Certification experience in Radiation Therapy - E
• Should be able to work in any area within the radiotherapy department such as CT-Simulator and Treatment floor - E
• English Language Skills: Level I - E
• Computer Skills: Level II - E
