Description
• Scope of Service: Day Surgery Unit (DSU)
• No. of Beds: 17 Bays including 1 induction room
The Day Surgery Unit provides nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in the pre-operative period after patients seen in Perioperative DSU Nurse Clinic (PDNC) and during the post-operative period as a Phase II DSU. Patients will be discharged home upon meeting DSU discharge criteria. Patients who require Same Day Admission (SDA) will have their documents and admission plan pre-arranged prior to the surgery. Patients in DSU who deteriorate and require admission after surgery as 'unplanned admission' will be attended accordingly.

• Registered Nurse with current nursing license from country of origin
