A state-of-the art developments such as Cardiac and Liver Center; Emergency Care and Trauma Center continues to be the best Trauma Care Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is ranked as the 4th Emergency Care Center outside the United States of America, to provide (PHTLS) Pre-Hospital Trauma and Life Support program. Dental, Ambulatory (Outpatient) Care, Long Term Care/ Rehabilitation, Other adult and pediatric services provided include: Surgical and Medical wards, Oncology. Obstetrics and Gynecology (Labor and Delivery, Oncology, Antenatal and Post Partum wards); Oncology, Neonatal ICU, Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Program, VIP Wards, Royal Suite, College of Medicine and Nursing College.

Description:

UNIT NAME: Emergency Care Center - Acute Care Unit A&B
Patient Population: Adult Mixed Gender patients with Level 3 CTAS category
Hours of Operation: 24 hours / 7 days per week

Staff Categories:

Primary Patient Diagnoses:
Level 3 Trauma:

• Blunt trauma cases, Minor Head, abdominal and orthopedic trauma. 1st and 2nd degree burns. Plastic Surgery; general surgery; vascular surgery; MVA and fall

Level 3 Emergency:
Endocrine; Gastrointestinal Conditions; Oncology and End of Life Care; Infectious, Environmental and Hematological condition. Simple fracture dislocation; amputation of limb; Social/Crisis intervention.

Nursing Procedures:
Level 3 Trauma/Emergency Cases:

• C-spine Immobilization. Initial assessment and Management of level 3 trauma cases
• Administration of Advance Emergency Medication
• Cardioversion
• Needle Decompression
• Chest Tube Insertion and care
• Diagnostic Peritoneal Paracentesis
• Insertion of Central line and care
• Insertion of Perma cath and Porta cath and care
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Moderate Sedation
• Insertion and assist in Peg tube insertion and care
• Care of Central Venous Line Device

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with current Nursing License
• Diploma in Nursing (Western standard)
• (2) years current clinical experience in specific area of practice
• Specific Certification as required in area of assignment
• Management of patients according to International Patient Safety Goals.
• Treatment and review of patients requiring brief Interventional Management with a 4-4 hour time frame prior to discharge home.

- Wound dressing
- Naso-gastric tube insertion
- Urinary Catherization
- Venipuncture
- IV/PO/PR Medication Administration
- Point of Care Testing
- Patient and Family Health Education
