Description
- Scope of Service:POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT (PACU)

The PACU provides advanced and complex nursing care to adult and pediatric patients who are in the immediate postoperative period or those who require minor surgical procedures. Critically ill postoperative patients will be cared for in the PACU on an emergent and temporary basis only. Our practice is systematic, integrative and holistic, and involves Critical Thinking, Clinical Decision Making and Inquiry. We strive to promote an environment in which the post anesthesia nurse can deliver quality care within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
