Description
Scope of Service: Wound Care
The Tissue Viability/Wound Management Service provides specialized, holistic, patient-centered care for adult and pediatric patients with wound and skin integrity issues, who have been referred through an inpatient, outpatient or home healthcare setting, including nurse-led clinics.
Tissue Viability/Wound Management is an area of specialized nursing that strives to provide excellent, evidence-based preventive and therapeutic interventions to patients with integumentary system issues. The Service functions within the interdisciplinary team model and promotes best practice in the nursing care of patients with wounds through program design, clinical consultation, facilitation and research. As well, it functions as a direct care provider, educator, research specialist and consultant. Tissue Viability/Wound Care Specialists are certified by a nationally recognized accredited organization and guide optimal patient care to improve quality of life and achieve positive clinical outcomes.

• Registered Nurse with current nursing license from country of origin
• Two years recent acute care nursing experience in Wound Care
