The Director of Rehabilitation will be in charge with the construction fit out of this project

Client Details

My client is a prestigious entity working on a unique rehabilitation project in one of the largest cities in Saudi Arabia.

Description

Project Planning and Strategy:

* Manage the tasks as directed by the Department Lead.
* Manage and technically direct multiple contractors to deliver the recommendations from the studies team for the rehabilitation of the project.
* Actively participate in the development of the department's strategy and goals, as well as establish and drive the execution of initiatives and plans to meet them.
* Actively participate in the development of the department's annual budget, estimating and determining financial and human resources requirements for concerned function.
* Collaborate with architects, urban planners, and other professionals to create a vision for the rehabilitation project transformation.
* Conduct feasibility studies and assessments to identify engineering challenges, risks, and opportunities.

Infrastructure Rehabilitation:

* Oversee the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure elements, such interior infrastructure and building restructuring.
* Develop engineering designs and fit out specifications for infrastructure upgrades, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure quality execution of rehabilitation projects.

Building Rehabilitation:

* Manage the rehabilitation of historical buildings and structures within the neighbourhood, preserving their architectural integrity and cultural significance.
* Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop retrofitting plans, address structural issues, and enhance building functionality.
* Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility requirements, and conservation guidelines during the rehabilitation process.

Stakeholder Engagement:

* Engage with community members, local authorities, and relevant organisations to gather input and address concerns related to the rehabilitation project.
* Foster positive relationships with stakeholders and maintain effective communication throughout the project life-cycle.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
* Identify funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support the neighbourhood rehabilitation project.
* Monitor project expenses, prepare financial reports, and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

* Minimum of 25 years of experience in engineering and project management, specifically in neighbourhood or urban rehabilitation projects.
* 10 years of experience at the Director level with 5 years of regional experience.
* Strong background in civil engineering or a related field, with expertise in infrastructure and building rehabilitation.
* Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale rehabilitation projects, preferably in historic or heritage sites.
* In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, codes, regulations, and best practices related to rehabilitation and preservation.
* Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
* Ability to balance the preservation of historical and cultural heritage with the implementation of innovative engineering solutions.
* Bachelor's or advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
