Resident Engineer

Job description / Role

Role:

We are currently looking for Resident Engineer who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities on-site, ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with project specifications, designs, and quality standards. The role requires strong contractor, supervision & engineering experience with the ability to manage day-to-day site operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor contractor activities on-site to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Review contractor work plans, schedules, and progress reports.
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with design engineers, consultants, and project managers to resolve technical issues.
• Inspect and approve materials, workmanship, and completed works.
• Maintain daily site reports, progress documentation, and records of inspections.
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and schedule tracking.
• Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical or relevant Engineering discipline.
• 5–12 years of experience in construction, with proven experience in contractor supervision.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, codes, and standards.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical and operational issues promptly.
• Proficiency in project management and reporting tools (MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.

Preferred:

• Experience in large-scale Mixed use or building projects.
