Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• The Rotating Mechanical / Mobile Equipment Trainer is a safety and compliance role model and leader
• Accountable for supporting / promoting / facilitating S-Chem “Tenets of Operation”, EH&S Policies / Practices, Process Safety Management, Critical Procedures, Operational Excellence Processes.
• Deliver L&D New Hire Orientation Topics and update training material as needed
• Facilitate Compliance Topic Training
• Active participant in Management of Change (MOC) process, follow up, and corrections as created
• Facilitate Department Monthly Safety Meetings
• Ensure effective classroom training / field instruction for area of responsibility
• Communicate effectively on issues across the organization.
• Must be able to recognize opportunities for improvement on the plant processes
• Openly support best practices initiatives
• Possess a presence of mind to understand when other resources are needed
• Demonstrate the ability to lead change for continuous improvement
• Provide training material to trainees, corresponding to their job grade level
• Lead the qualification efforts to ensure job requirement compliance within maintenance team is maintained
• Impart theoretical / classroom training, based on TDP training material
• Consistently review progress of trainees to assist them in their development
• Coordinate on-the-job training with the help of Maintenance field mentors and maintain records of all the TDP related training activities
• Conduct assessment (both theoretical & practical)
• Maintain training records for all employees in area of responsibility
• Manage / monitor training progression, scheduling and employee development on an annual basis, including logistics and materials
• Provide / facilitate necessary training material (Level A)
• Impart theoretical / classroom training based on Technician Development Program provided training material (Level A) in coordination with lab personnel
• Review progress of trainees and assist them in their development
• Lead mandatory Mobile Equipment Qualification / Recertification / Refresher training efforts for:
- Forklift Operators
- Crane Operators
- Certified Rigger
- Crane Inspection
- Terminal Tractors
- Reach Stackers
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
- Basic Rigging / Flagging
• Create, present and maintain training modules utilizing MS PowerPoint and Student Interactive software
• Work with all internal departments to design and create classroom curriculum for the mobile and crawler crane maintenance, operations, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and safety control system
• Maintain training records for all employees in area of responsibility
• Manage / monitor training progression, scheduling and employee development on an annual basis, including logistics and materials

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Certified Training Professional
• Supervisor / Leadership Experience in Maintenance work environment
• Certified Mobile / Equipment Trainer ( Forklift / Aerial / Rigging )

EXPERIENCE:
• Maintenance rotating mechanic, mobile equipment Trainer, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in petrochemical operations (with preference for ethylene, polyethylene industrial maintenance experience).
• 4 years of experience in the development and delivery of training materials
• 2 Years Documentation Experience
• Experience with Mobile Equipment / Basic Rigging Training
