Sales and Distribution Manager

Job description / Role

We are seeking an ambitious, talented, dynamic, self-starter and organized Sales & Distribution Manager, with a sound experience in bottled water, beverages, and FMCG sales & distribution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and GCC. The overall responsibility of this position is to look after all sales and distribution activities of the water packaging section to achieve and exceed sales targets at the optimum cost of sales, marketing, and distribution. In this role, talent and efforts will be essential to the day-to-day operation and successful completion of execution, and managing the sales force.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

- Develop & execute annual strategic Go-To-Market plans to drive increased sales and presence for the product lines in key food service segments
- Secure new customers, both distributors and operators, to drive new sales
- Act as primary point of contact for key accounts and distributors
- Continuously train, coach and support the sales supervisors, distributors and key operators
- Attend key strategic sales calls for major customer, distributor and create broker opportunities
- Drive the agenda for sales meetings, ultimately delivering more presence in the marketplace
- Maintain monthly plan/scorecard review schedule with account managers to ensure delivery against budget plans and implement course correction as necessary
- Create quarterly top to top business reviews to keep focus on plan activities
- Recommend marketing and trade marketing vehicles and strategies to develop the our bottled water business and enhance the our brand foot print and visibility in all different sales and distribution channel
- This could include trade ads, distributor/key accounts incentives, promotional pricing, POS materials and other tactics that are effective in this channel

Requirements

Preferred Education / Experience:

- Four-year Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Minimum 5-7 years CPG Sales and Sales related experience in foodservice – preferably in the food & beverage segment, with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in bottled water / soft drinks
- Minimum 2 years managing and developing accounts and distributors networks
- Demonstrated customer centric approach is a must
- Demonstrated experience cultivating new accounts and new business opportunities in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset, must be very self-motivated and comfortable dealing with significant ambiguity as we pioneer this segment in foodservice
- Willing to travel across KSA and in future GCC significantly and commit necessary time to develop sales opportunities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Supervision Required:
- Requires independent judgment, good time management skills, and ability to prioritize with minimal supervision

Skills / Competencies:

Communication:
- On-going communication with operators, sales supervisors and distributors to ensure a seamless continuity of efforts
- Interact with all levels of key operators, distributors and merchandiser
- Effectively address customer issues and needs to their satisfaction while at the same time meeting the company’s sales and profit objectives

Business Planning:
- Provide weekly/monthly sales reports, expense reports, and other assigned reports as necessary
- Effectively manage time and visits to meet competing objectives and priorities
- Forecast sales and coordinate product needs with supply chain and customer service
- Identify, monitor and exploit water product and retail trends and opportunities, distributor changes, customer and consumer dynamics, etc, and hence recommend appropriate actions to management

Results Tracking & Management:
- Implement tracking/reporting tools to manage sales objectives
- Assist with developing sales budgets by SKU and promotional spending budgets
- Develop methods to systematically track and report competitive activity
• Saudi / GCC work experience, in a reputable FMCG company
• Proven supervisory ability and good knowledge of the best practices in the industry, Must be computer literate
• 5 Years ‘experience in water soft drinks sales & distribution, and FMCG environment in KSA, GCC
• 3 Years’ middle management experience
• Outstanding communication (Arabic and English) skills
• Paying close attention to detail, works accurately in a high pressured environment and a great problem solver as well as team leader
• Prepared to work extra hours and weekends at short notice
• Strong computer skills and communication skills
