About the role

We are recruiting, on behalf of our client, an experienced sales business development manager – AI for telecom to drive revenue growth and expand market presence for cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions tailored to the telecommunications industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will focus on selling AI-driven solutions that enhance telecom networks, including network optimization, predictive maintenance, intelligent automation, customer experience enhancement, churn prediction, and AI-enabled 5G/Open RAN deployments. This high-impact role supports major telecom operators and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s digital transformation and connectivity ambitions.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted sales and business development strategy for AI solutions in the KSA telecom sector.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with leading telecom operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), and related enterprises.
  • Build and nurture strong C-level and technical relationships with decision-makers in the telecommunications industry.
  • Present and demonstrate AI applications for telecom, such as AI-driven network automation, predictive analytics for fault detection, intelligent resource allocation, customer analytics, and generative AI use cases.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales and technical teams to design customized proposals, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and solutions that address telecom-specific challenges like network efficiency, 5G rollout, and service monetization.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, commercial terms, and strategic partnerships with telecom operators and ecosystem players.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets in the AI-for-telecom space.
  • Monitor telecom market trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and opportunities linked to Vision 2030 in KSA.
  • Work closely with regional and global teams on pipeline management, forecasting, and go-to-market execution for telecom AI solutions.
  • Represent the company at key telecom events, exhibitions, and industry forums across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, telecommunications engineering, computer science, or a related field (MBA or relevant certification is a plus).
  • 6–10+ years of proven sales/business development experience in the technology sector, with a minimum of 3–4 years specifically selling AI, analytics, or digital solutions to telecom operators.
  • Strong understanding of telecom networks (5G, Open RAN, transmission, IoT) and how AI transforms them — including automation, predictive maintenance, network optimization, and customer experience.
  • Established network and track record of closing deals with major telecom operators or ICT decision-makers in KSA or the GCC.
  • Deep knowledge of the Saudi telecom market, Vision 2030 initiatives, and local procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills in both English and Arabic (Arabic fluency is highly preferred).
  • Experience managing complex, solution-based sales cycles involving technical and commercial stakeholders in telecom.
  • Self-motivated hunter with strong pipeline discipline and proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce or similar).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within KSA and occasionally across the GCC as required.
