Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Scheduling Engineer to join our Infrastructure & JV Project Management Team (I&JVPM). Project teams are assembled in multiple site offices geographically scattered throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Visits to domestic and international contractors' offices are expected. Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams are directly responsible and accountable for the delivery of assigned capital projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. The portfolio typically includes infrastructural, maritime, industrial facility, residential, and downstream joint venture projects of various sizes, types, and complexity from several million to multi-billion dollars. Currently, some of the giga projects include Ras Al Khair Infrastructures, SOFON, AMIRAL, and Liquids to Chemicals programs. These world-class projects are the cornerstones to shape the future of the Kingdom's economy and global industries.

The Scheduling Engineer is required to have extensive experience of schedule development and analysis and progress measurement in relevant industries. The incumbent shall also have a profound understanding of project management and controls principles, methodologies, and practices. Work experience in various project phases from early engineering to project completion is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Apply standard scheduling techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out planning and scheduling engineering tasks supporting the management of the project.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed work plans and schedules for construction and engineering activities.
  • Monitor progress against project schedules and milestones and identify schedule variances and risks.
  • Analyze schedule impacts of changes to project scope, resources, or priorities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Review short-cycle schedule impacts and prepare Control Performance Monitoring (CPM) project schedule analysis.
  • Responsible for resource loading the project schedule.
  • Collect, validate, and integrate schedule and earned value progress information from third parties, vendors, and contractors.
  • Prepare schedule reports and presentations to communicate schedule status and performance to project stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize project schedules, including resource leveling, critical path analysis, and schedule compression.
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve schedule-related issues and conflicts.
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide schedule updates and recommendations.
  • Prepare different tabular and graphical schedule timeline and resources reports as required.
  • May collect historical engineering, procurement, and construction data for reporting, metrics, and performance analysis.
  • Assist in the integration of project changes in the schedule forecast.
  • Assist in developing alternatives to accommodate changes and priorities.
  • Attend project meetings and participate by providing the applicable reports.
  • Facilitate meetings with key project team members, vendors, and contractors to address and update the project schedule status and forecast.
  • Provide proactive and accurate schedule management assessments to assist the project management team.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a planning/scheduling engineer or project controls specialist in the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and techniques, including schedule development, resource management, and risk analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
